What you will do

• Design and develop Python-based backend services with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Build and support RESTful APIs using modern frameworks like FastAPI.
• Apply object-oriented design principles to ensure maintainable system architecture.
• Own features throughout the full software development lifecycle from design to implementation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within a hybrid office environment.

Requirements

• Must be able to work onsite in Charlotte, NC, three days per week (Mon/Tue/Thurs).
• 4+ years of professional backend or software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python development.
• Hands-on experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced or Agile environments with ownership over deliverables.

Nice to have

• Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and tools.
• Background in regulated industries or financial services.
• Knowledge of database design, query optimization, and UI development.
