Backend Engineer (hirify.global Pay): Building and optimizing secure payment solutions and identity verification flows for a leading second-hand fashion platform with an accent on high-load distributed systems and compliance. Focus on evolving service architecture, ensuring 99.99% availability, and driving rapid deployment cycles through automated testing and CI/CD.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Vilnius or Kaunas, Lithuania (Hybrid model).

Salary: €3,558–€4,808 gross per month.

What you will do

  • Design and build secure payment and compliance services within the hirify.global Pay domain.
  • Collaborate in a cross-functional squad to deliver high-quality code via fast pull request cycles.
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure service stability.
  • Own critical alerts and maintain high availability metrics for production services.
  • Use AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor to enhance development efficiency.
  • Deploy features frequently using a modern tech stack including Go, Ruby, and AWS.

Requirements

  • Strong background in backend engineering and a passion for technology.
  • Practical problem-solving skills with a focus on simplicity and avoiding over-engineering.
  • Experience or strong desire to learn Go and Ruby.
  • Ability to balance immediate business needs with long-term system stability.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration across cross-domain teams.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and sharing engineering best practices.
