What you will do

• Design and implement robust, reusable data pipelines and contracts for the Insights Platform.
• Establish platform infrastructure with integrated governance, quality controls, and reliability standards.
• Lead and coach a new engineering team to deliver secure, production-ready solutions.
• Define technical direction and architecture for scalable, future-proof data products.
• Collaborate with product teams and architects to translate complex user needs into platform features.
• Oversee operational health, including monitoring and incident resolution.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to commute to Utrecht, Netherlands
• 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer in complex IT landscapes.
• 3+ years of experience in a lead or senior technical position.
• Proven expertise with the Azure Data Platform (ADF, Databricks, Synapse, Azure DevOps).
• Solid proficiency in SQL, ETL development, and pipeline testing.
• Experience with Apache Airflow and Python Spark is highly desirable.
• Strong background in data modeling, data management, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Experience in the financial or payment sector.
• Knowledge of client and payments data structures.
