Location: Must be based within +/- 3 hours of the CET time zone (EST / Europe preferred).
Salary: $90,000–$150,000

What you will do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable distributed backend systems powering core product capabilities.
- Manage backend services throughout the entire lifecycle, including architecture, implementation, and monitoring.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to shape strategy and product decisions.
- Develop platform components, including protocol integrations and interactions with blockchain networks.
- Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, security, and observability across services.
- Leverage AI tools to improve productivity while contributing to technical reviews and mentorship.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience building distributed backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python 3.
- Experience with containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Working knowledge of databases such as Postgres, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
- Proven ability to manage cloud environments on AWS.
- Strong background in algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
Nice to have
- Professional experience with Golang.
- Prior experience in a high-autonomy startup environment.
- Hands-on experience with Web3 systems, dApps, or smart contracts.
