What you will do
- Implement and maintain the Group Sanctions Standard across all LATAM entities.
- Act as the senior point of escalation for sanctions alerts, providing guidance on sanctions exposure.
- Provide oversight of the LATAM/Brazil risk landscape.
- Keep up to date with local Sanctions in Brazil and other LATAM markets, ensuring compliance with local laws and international standards (OFAC, EU, UK).
- Work closely with local MLROs in LATM and Group Head of Sanction in London as well as local front office colleagues.
- Deliver specialised sanctions training to regional teams to improve the quality of initial frontline screening and risk awareness.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Sanctions compliance within FinTech, FX, or Corporate Banking.
- Deep understanding of the Brazilian and broader LATAM regulatory environment, including local Central Bank requirements.
- Proven ability to analyse complex corporate structures and international trade finance documentation.
- Strong working knowledge of OFAC, EU, and UK sanctions regimes.
- Native or business-fluent Portuguese and English are essential; Spanish is highly advantageous.
- Ability to make firm, risk-based decisions under pressure and within strict SLAs.
