Rigger (Game Art)

TL;DR

Senior/Lead Rigger (Game Art): Designs and implements rigs for VFX shows, supporting studio-wide and production project requirements including characters, vehicles, and environments with an accent on coordination, scheduling, and automation. Focus on building advanced characters and creatures in Maya, mentoring junior team members, and developing tools for the Rigging department.

Location: Must be based in Seoul or surroundings, or willing to relocate.

What you will do

• Create animation controls and qualities for objects and characters in collaboration with the production team.
• Test and troubleshoot animation controls, making adjustments as necessary throughout the production cycle.
• Build and design advanced characters, creatures, vehicles, and props in Maya using in-house tools and pipeline.
• Mentor other members of the rigging team.
• Contribute to and develop tools, rig-modules, workflow, and plugins for the Rigging department.

Requirements

• Minimum five (5) years of rigging experience for high profile VFX and/or animation projects.
• Expert knowledge of human/creature anatomies.
• Expert knowledge of creature deformation and puppet rigging techniques.
• Strong Python experience.
• Expert knowledge of Maya.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
