What you will do

• Provide SME-level security consultancy for IT projects and cloud architecture.
• Manage and optimize IDPS deployments and cloud-native security workflows.
• Monitor, investigate, and triage security alerts within SIEM and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to implement secure cloud configurations and automations.
• Conduct threat hunting and detailed root cause analysis for security incidents.
• Ensure documentation and incident response comply with standards like NIST, ISO, and GDPR.

Requirements

• Must be local to the New York City area.
• Proven experience in intrusion detection, malware analysis, and incident response.
• Extensive knowledge of AWS and Azure environments.
• Expertise with SIEM, DLP, firewalls, and endpoint protection software.
• Strong background in security frameworks such as NIST SP 800-61, ISO 27035, or SANS.
• B.S. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or an equivalent technical discipline.

Nice to have

• Professional certifications such as CISSP, GIAC (GCIH, GCIA, etc.), or AWS Security Specialty.
• Prior experience in the financial or banking industry.
