Jr/Mid Software Developer (Aerospace): Supporting the design, development, and delivery of software systems for Cross Domain Solution (CDS) data transformation within the CROWN program with an accent on data processing, validation, and integration capabilities. Focus on backend development, structured data processing, and developing maintainable, testable software within a collaborative engineering team.

Location: Hybrid in Colorado Springs, CO. Remote work may be considered for highly qualified candidates based on program needs.

Salary: $85,000 to $115,000

What you will do

• Develop, test, and maintain software components supporting data transformation and cross-domain data processing.
• Implement features and enhancements under the guidance of senior engineers and technical leads.
• Write and execute unit tests to validate functionality and ensure software quality.
• Collaborate with engineers, test teams, and DevOps personnel to integrate and deploy software components.
• Contribute to technical documentation, including interface definitions and design notes.
• Support integration, testing, and deployment activities in development and operational environments.

Requirements

• US Citizenship required
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
• 0–3 years of professional software development experience (internships and academic projects considered)
• Foundational knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++, or similar)
• Understanding of core software development concepts, including version control, debugging, and testing

Nice to have

• Internship or co-op experience in a software development environment
• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, containerization, or cloud-based development environments
• Experience working with structured or semi-structured data (e.g., JSON, XML, XSD, DFDL, or similar)
