Software Tester

TL;DR

Software Tester (QA Testing): Ensuring the quality and reliability of cloud and mobile software platforms with an accent on designing and executing test plans, identifying and tracking defects, and contributing to continuous improvement of testing processes and tools. Focus on diagnosing issues, verifying bug fixes, and supporting performance, load, and scalability testing of cloud-based solutions.

Location: Hybrid role based in Toronto, Canada, requiring working from the hirify.global Toronto office two days per week.

What you will do

• Collaborate with product managers and developers to understand requirements and testing needs.
• Design test plans and develop clear, reusable test cases based on user stories.
• Execute manual and automated test suites for cloud and mobile applications.
• Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as Jira.
• Work closely with development teams to diagnose issues and verify bug fixes.
• Support performance, load, and scalability testing of cloud-based solutions.

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, including SaaS applications.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and QA methodologies.
• Experience with test case management and bug tracking tools such as Jira.
• Familiarity with testing APIs and web services (e.g., Postman or similar tools).
• Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript for test automation.
