What you will do

• Integrate and optimize LLM calls for structured extraction and document understanding.
• Develop and improve document processing pipelines that handle PDFs and spreadsheets at scale.
• Improve API design and pre-processing algorithms based on customer feedback.
• Drive backend latency and infrastructure costs down without sacrificing quality.
• Build internal tooling and evaluation systems to analyze model failure cases.
• Collaborate directly with founders and customers to shape product direction.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and scaling real-world applications.
• 2+ years of experience integrating LLMs into production systems.
• Exceptional proficiency in Python or deep expertise in another language.
• Quantitative approach to building products with an ability to iterate fast.
• High bar for code quality and strong debugging skills.
• Must be based in San Francisco for in-person work.

Nice to have

• Prior experience founding a company or working in early-stage startups.
• Experience with prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, or building AI agents.
• History of delivering AI-powered products at internet scale.
