What you will do

• Design, implement, and deploy production-ready backend services and APIs.
• Build and maintain GraphQL and RESTful interfaces with a focus on reliability and security.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize system latency, throughput, and resource utilization.
• Implement full-stack observability, including logging, tracing, metrics, and incident alerting.
• Drive data ingestion pipelines for real-time weather information and geospatial data.
• Collaborate with product teams and engineers to translate complex customer needs into robust technical solutions.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in the U.S. Eastern timezone.
• 8+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java (Spring/Quarkus) or comparable frameworks (Node.js/Python).
• Deep experience with SQL and NoSQL database modeling and data access patterns.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Practical understanding of multi-threading, async processing, and event-driven architectures.

• Experience with geospatial data and databases.
• Expertise in advanced GraphQL schema federation and API governance.
