Ux/Ui Designer (Fintech)

TL;DR

UX/UI Designer (Fintech): Designing user interfaces and experiences for a financial technology platform with an accent on problem-solving, design principles, and visual/UI design. Focus on simplifying complex workflows, maintaining design systems, and using research to inform design decisions.

Location: The role will be based in the New York City office, and will be part of hirify.global's hybrid in-office operation.

Salary: $105K - $125K base. Salary bands are based on NY and other similar metro areas and may differ based on where the role is ultimately hired.

What you will do

• Work with senior team members to balance business needs with user needs.
• Thrive in detail-oriented tasks and support the team in defining future product direction.
• Simplify complex workflows into clear, intuitive user journeys.
• Identify and communicate potential downstream UX, operational, and technical implications of design decisions.
• Design and maintain content patterns and microcopy within a design system.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers.

Requirements

• Degree in Design, related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of professional experience as a Product or User Experience Designer for complex digital products and systems across mobile and web platforms.
• An obsession with Figma.
• A portfolio that showcases deep problem‑solving, strong design principles, and excellent visual/UI design with consistent excellence in craft and quality.
• Deep understanding of the design thinking process, from discovery and problem framing through delivery and iteration.
• Systems-thinking mindset.
• Familiarity with building, maintaining, publishing, and documenting component libraries and design systems.
• Familiarity designing and maintaining content patterns and microcopy within a design system.
• Experience with cross-functional collaboration with Product Managers and Engineers.
• High-fidelity wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing experience.
• Familiarity with or strong ambition to learn how to work across multiple products and codebases, maintaining coherence with shared patterns and a unified design system.
• Familiarity with research best practices such as user interviews, surveys, and product analytics (e.g., event tracking), and using insights to inform and validate design decisions.
• Comfort using AI tools in the design process and applying judgment about when and how to rely on them.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Experience presenting your work to project stakeholders.
