Junior System Administrator

TL;DR

Junior System Administrator: Assisting in developing and supporting the studio's technology environment with an accent on supporting desktops, mobile devices, peripherals, and applications. Focus on troubleshooting tech-related issues, administering software licenses, and maintaining documentation.

Location: Must be a resident of British Columbia, Canada. Remote work is not available outside of British Columbia. Position will require some days each week working in the Vancouver studio. Any and all WFH positions require the candidate to have a reliable internet connection via ethernet and work on Pacific Standard Time.

Salary: $24 - $28/hour (British Columbia Employees Pay Range)

What you will do

• Assist systems administrators with supporting desktops, mobile devices, peripherals, and applications.
• Communicate policies and procedures to end users.
• Assist with administering software licenses and license servers.
• Assist with documentation and training materials.
• Work with technology ticketing system to service support requests.
• Work with production departments to troubleshoot tech-related issues and identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

• 1+ years of demonstrated experience supporting Linux/Mac/Windows desktops.
• Experience in a technical field supporting end-user hardware and software, preferred.
• Basic understanding of automation tools such as imaging, configuration management, etc.
• Basic understanding of Unix, networking, and hardware fundamentals.
• Well-organized with planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada ie. Citizen, PR, Open Work Permit.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of visual effects concepts and applications, preferred.
• Basic understanding of scripting languages (e.g., shell, ruby, python,) preferred.
