What you will do

• Design and optimize wireless systems algorithms at MAC and PHY layers for link adaptation, power control, timing advance, and doppler tracking.
• Design and simulate MAC layer scheduling algorithms supporting multi-beam user scheduling with QoS and latency constraints.
• Analyze inter-cell and inter-beam interference, identify on-orbit issues, and propose solutions through beam planning and signal processing.
• Run link and system level simulations to evaluate algorithm performance across protocol layers.
• Collaborate with software engineers to implement and deploy algorithms to orbit.
• Qualify algorithm performance in production using KPI analysis and telemetry data.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Sunnyvale, CA, USA
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or 5+ years engineering experience; experience with MAC and PHY layer protocols and 3GPP standards.
• Strong knowledge of wireless communication systems and cellular base station algorithms.
• Fluent in MATLAB; working knowledge of Python and/or C/C++.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed.
• Must meet ITAR requirements: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for U.S. Department of State authorization.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in wireless communication systems.
• Experience debugging production wireless networks at scale.
• Experience with link and system level simulations of communication networks.
