What you will do

  • Define and drive the artistic direction and quality standards for characters across diverse projects.
  • Mentor and review the work of character artists to ensure consistent growth and high visual output.
  • Create hero assets, including sculpting, retopology, texturing, and engine implementation.
  • Optimize production workflows, focusing on performance, clean topology, and real-time engine compatibility.
  • Collaborate with Art Directors, Tech Artists, and Producers to align character goals with gameplay needs.
  • Oversee external freelancers to maintain quality benchmarks and stylistic consistency.

Requirements

  • 1–2+ shipped AA or AAA titles as a character artist
  • Proven expertise in ZBrush, retopology, and PBR texturing workflows
  • Strong proficiency in Unity3D and Unreal Engine
  • Experience in leading or mentoring small character teams
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written)
  • Polished portfolio showcasing both stylized and realistic character work

Nice to have

  • Cloth simulation experience with Marvelous Designer
  • Basic understanding of rigging and deformation
  • Familiarity with shader and material creation
