What you will do

• Oversee daily modelling team operations and provide mentorship to team members.
• Collaborate with Asset Supervisors to maintain high-quality character, prop, and environment assets.
• Ensure models meet technical requirements for topology, deformation, UV layout, and rendering efficiency.
• Work closely with Surfacing, Rigging, and Animation leads to ensure optimal asset delivery.
• Develop workflows to increase department productivity while maintaining studio standards.
• Ensure all milestones and production deadlines are met through effective communication and problem-solving.

Requirements

• Must be open to relocate to Sydney, Australia.
• Solid experience in character, prop, and environment modelling within a production environment.
• Expert knowledge of Maya and proficiency in digital sculpting tools like ZBrush or Mudbox.
• Strong understanding of UV layout techniques and topology for deformation.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage a team of artists while meeting tight deadlines.
• Ability to interpret art department references and resolve unspecified details to match production style.

• Experience working on feature films or high-end episodic animation.
• Background in technical direction or pipeline development.
