Location: Must be based in the Netherlands. This is a hybrid role requiring 40% office attendance in Rotterdam, 40% from home, and 20% flexibility.

Salary: €70,000 – €100,000 gross per year.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain robust, scalable data products and reliable pipelines.
• Process and leverage diverse data sources including energy market simulations and asset data.
• Professionalize codebases and implement engineering best practices like CI/CD and automated testing.
• Collaborate with data scientists and portfolio managers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Monitor and manage production pipelines to ensure high data quality and reliability.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor team members in engineering principles.

Requirements

• Professional experience in data engineering (4+ years).
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Practical experience with ETL/ELT, orchestration, and data modeling.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, Databricks, or Snowflake.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, version control, and testing practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Nice to have

• Affinity with energy trading and energy system modeling.
• Experience with dbt, PowerBI, or similar tools.
