Focus on bridging the gap between artistic vision and engineering scalability through expert technical leadership and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

What you will do

  • Manage, mentor, and provide clear technical direction to a team of technical artists.
  • Partner with Art Leadership and Environment/Lighting teams to define and achieve high-fidelity visual targets.
  • Support artist-facing rendering pipelines, ensuring tools are intuitive, well-documented, and scalable.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to balance visual fidelity with performance and hardware constraints.
  • Optimize asset pipelines to ensure seamless integration of lighting and rendering workflows.
  • Communicate technical risks, opportunities, and constraints to leadership to guide sustainable decision-making.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional technical art experience in the games or related industry.
  • Expertise in Unreal Engine lighting, rendering, and scripting systems.
  • Proficiency in standard content creation tools such as Maya, 3DS Max, Blender, or Houdini.
  • Deep understanding of real-time rendering principles, lighting models, and performance optimization strategies.
  • Proven ability to partner with engineers to drive engine-level changes based on artistic requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and creative teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience with large-scale AAA game production.
  • Familiarity with modern Unreal Engine 5 features such as Lumen, Nanite, and PCG.
  • Background in pipeline development for large, distributed teams.
  • Experience with performance profiling on complex rendering systems.
