TL;DR

Asset Artist (GameDev): Creating visually compelling and performance-optimized assets in Unreal Engine for game projects with an accent on modeling, surfacing, layout, and optimization. Focus on ensuring assets integrate seamlessly into gameplay systems and maintaining high visual standards while meeting performance targets.

Location: Remote (any location). Preference will be given to candidates based in or near Los Angeles.

What you will do

• Create high-quality real-time assets including characters, environments, vehicles, weapons, and props.
• Model, sculpt, texture, and optimize assets for use in Unreal Engine.
• Collaborate with Design, Technical Art, Lighting, and Engineering to ensure assets integrate seamlessly into gameplay systems.
• Support set dressing, world building, and environment layout within Unreal.
• Identify and solve technical challenges within DCC tools and Unreal Engine.
• Maintain documentation and standardized workflows to support scalable asset production.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience creating assets for real-time games or interactive projects.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in modeling and texturing across characters, environments, vehicles, and props.
• Proficient in Unreal Engine workflows for asset implementation, material creation, and optimization.
• Advanced knowledge of DCC tools such as Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Houdini, or similar.
• Experience optimizing assets for performance while maintaining visual fidelity.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with photogrammetry and asset scanning workflows.
• Experience building Control Rigs or basic rigging for in-engine use.
• Familiarity with procedural workflows and PCG tools.
