What you will do

• Lead the design and development of scalable C# services and secure RESTful APIs for billing and settlement.
• Guide architectural direction and contribute directly to core services within a distributed ecosystem.
• Improve system performance, reliability, and security to support global high-volume transactions.
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, mentorship, and strengthening engineering standards.
• Collaborate with product and site reliability teams to deliver resilient, high-quality technical solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues through structured root cause analysis.

Requirements

• Lead level experience with C# and SQL Server.
• Proven expertise in developing secure, RESTful APIs.
• Strong capability in system design for distributed, event-driven architectures.
• Prior experience in a technical leadership or mentoring role while remaining hands-on.
• Must have full working rights in New Zealand.
• Professional and articulate communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with major payment schemes or point-of-sale equipment.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure.
