What you will do

• Own the full-cycle art direction for products, from initial concept briefs to final delivery.
• Translate creative and narrative strategies into a cohesive visual tone.
• Collaborate with narrative leads, designers, and editors to integrate art that enhances storytelling.
• Provide actionable, clear feedback on sketches and final illustrations.
• Lead artist commissioning, including pipeline management, scheduling, and talent selection.
• Partner with graphic designers to ensure layout and art work in harmony to drive immersion.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in art direction or illustration management.
• Must be able to work on-site in Renton, WA 3 days per week.
• Proven portfolio demonstrating end-to-end art direction, including freelance management.
• Deep understanding of fantasy illustration trends, composition, anatomy, and visual clarity.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain brand adherence and navigate licensed product requirements.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate across creative and editorial departments.

• Experience with key art creation for covers and promotions.
