Site Reliability Engineer

TL;DR

Site Reliability Engineer: Managing and optimizing system reliability for high-availability production environments with an accent on cloud-native architectures and container orchestration. Focus on implementing observability solutions, automating operational tasks via Ansible, and supporting incident management processes within an OpenShift ecosystem.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Urbandale, IA (Hybrid role)

Salary: $62/hr (~$10,540/month)

What you will do

• Enhance service reliability and performance monitoring using observability platforms like Grafana, Prometheus, and Splunk.
• Manage and support production-grade environments leveraging Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Develop and maintain automation playbooks using Ansible Tower to streamline operations.
• Execute incident, problem, and change management processes in alignment with ITSM standards.
• Support cloud-native infrastructure on platforms such as GCP or Azure.
• Participate in on-call support rotations and perform ad-hoc shifts as business needs require.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work as a W2 employee (C2C is not accepted)
• 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture
• 4+ years of proficiency with observability tools like BigPanda, ThousandEyes, or ELK
• 4+ years of experience in IT Service Management (ITSM)
• 3+ years of experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Linux
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Ansible and infrastructure automation

• Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Strong background in project management and cross-functional leadership
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
