TL;DR

Senior Engineer, Story (Gamedev): Designing, implementing, and maintaining narrative and cinematic systems for a new IP, Project Hadar, using Unreal Engine 5 with an accent on optimizing performance, stability, and scalability. Focus on building tools for immersive story experiences and defining technical standards for story systems.

Location: Working mainly from our Warsaw office.

Salary: 23 700 – 37 455 PLN gross monthly.

What you will do

• Design, implement, optimize, and maintain narrative and cinematic systems.
• Develop and support tools for fast implementation of immersive story experiences.
• Take ownership of story tech features, ensuring performance, stability, and scalability.
• Debug, profile, and resolve technical challenges.
• Mentor other programmers, sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
• Define technical standards for story systems and tools.

Requirements

• Very good knowledge of C++ coding principles and practices.
• At least 5 years of professional experience as a programmer within the games industry.
• Broad experience in building tools inside Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
• Proven track record of delivering story, cinematic, or quest-related systems.
• Interest in learning and exploring new solutions.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Nice to have

• Solid understanding of Sequencer and Slate.
• An Agile mindset.
