Salary: $252,000 - $308,000 CAD per year

What you will do

• Drive design and implementation of new backend features with clean, high-quality code
• Design, develop, and deliver large-scale systems on cloud platforms
• Collaborate cross-functionally with analytics, design, product, marketing, and data science teams
• Mentor engineers and provide guidance through code, design, and architecture reviews
• Define technical direction, plan roadmaps, and manage project timelines and risks
• Continuously learn and apply new technologies and industry standards

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or near Vancouver, Canada with hybrid work (2 days onsite)
• 7+ years backend development experience with JVM languages (Java, Kotlin, Scala) or C#
• Experience with frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, or ASP.NET Core
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and event-driven systems (Kafka, SQS, SNS, Kinesis)
• Proficiency with databases such as DynamoDB, MySQL, and Elasticsearch
• Experience with CI/CD, Kubernetes, microservices, and scalable distributed systems

Nice to have

• Experience leveraging advanced AI tools and multi-agent coding assistants to improve productivity
• Familiarity with clean architecture and software craftsmanship
