TL;DR

Senior Data Scientist (Data Science/ML): Develop and deploy production-ready machine learning models and data science solutions to support automotive shop operations with an accent on statistical modeling, predictive AI, and NLP/LLM integration. Focus on designing scalable models, conducting deep data analysis, and collaborating cross-functionally to drive data-driven decision making in a fast-paced environment.

Location: Hybrid in Morgan Hill, California or Remote within the United States (California, Illinois, Massachusetts, Texas, Washington)

Salary: $165,000–$200,000 USD base plus bonus, equity, and benefits

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy production-ready models including regression, classification, clustering, ranking, and recommendation systems.
• Lead end-to-end data science projects from requirements gathering to deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business problems into data science solutions with clear success metrics.
• Define and track model performance, run A/B tests, and iterate based on feedback.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify insights and data quality issues.
• Work closely with ML and data engineers to integrate models into scalable production pipelines.
• Implement NLP and LLM-powered components for sentiment analysis and behavior optimization.
• Build and maintain dashboards to surface actionable insights for product and operations teams.

Requirements

• Must have 5+ years of applied data science experience or advanced degree equivalent.
• Proven experience deploying models to production beyond proof-of-concept.
• Strong skills in classical data science and machine learning techniques.
• Proficiency in Python and strong SQL skills for large-scale data.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders to define metrics and frame problems.

Nice to have

• Expertise in statistical inference and hypothesis testing.
• Familiarity with ML and data science libraries and tools.
• Experience with data visualization and communicating results to diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of LLMs and NLP frameworks like Hugging Face and LangChain.
• Understanding of MLOps principles and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS).
