Lead DevOps Engineer

TL;DR

Lead DevOps Engineer: Leading the evolution of infrastructure and developer workflows during monolith-to-microservices transitions with an accent on scalable architecture, automation, and operational excellence. Focus on designing self-service infrastructure, improving CI/CD, observability, and embedding security and cost optimization practices.

Location: Hybrid in Vilnius or Kaunas with up to two remote days per week and a work-from-almost-anywhere policy.

Salary: 7000 - 8600 EUR/month gross

What you will do

• Evolve architecture toward a scalable, service-oriented ecosystem supporting monolith-to-microservices transition.
• Improve orchestration, autoscaling, progressive delivery, and CI/CD pipelines for fast and safe deployments.
• Define and operationalize SLOs, improve alerting, and mature incident management and observability.
• Build self-service infrastructure, internal tooling, and reusable infrastructure templates.
• Embed security and policy-as-code into delivery workflows and promote cost-awareness and optimization (FinOps).
• Lead by example in automation, scalable platform design, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• Location: Hybrid work in Vilnius or Kaunas with remote flexibility.
• Strong background in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering supporting monolith-to-microservices transitions.
• Deep knowledge of Linux, networking, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience with monitoring and observability solutions (EFK or similar).
• Leadership experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering teams is a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience building Internal Developer Platforms (IDP).
• Implemented SLO-based reliability models and on-call processes.
• Formalized DevOps best practices across multiple teams in scaling organizations.
