Senior Site Reliability Engineer, ML Platform

Location: Hybrid, with offices in Vilnius and Kaunas, Lithuania; 2 days in the office are recommended but not enforced. Up to 90 days per year may be spent on workation, including up to 21 days working outside the EU.

Gross monthly salary: €5,383–€7,283.

What you will do

• Own the reliability and performance of the hirify.global Feature Store against strict latency SLOs at 400k+ feature-read RPS.
• Evaluate, benchmark, and prototype distributed storage technologies as potential replacements for Vespa.
• Build reliable, self-service embedding extraction pipelines and abstract compute and serving complexity for internal users.
• Scale and operate the Dataset & Drift Platform for dataset discovery, versioning, and drift monitoring across hybrid training workflows.
• Lead SLOs, alerting, runbooks, postmortems, incident response, capacity planning, automation, and toil reduction for ML Platform services, including participation in the on-call rotation.
• Drive ML data standards, developer experience, adoption, platform consulting, and GDPR-compliant feature and dataset lifecycles in collaboration with Data Infrastructure, Production Engineering, and ML teams.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and distributed systems architecture.
• Experience building and running internal platforms or high-throughput, low-latency distributed data systems, including NoSQL, key-value stores, Vespa, or Kafka.
• Proven experience with SRE practices including SLOs, observability, and incident management, combined with a platform mindset focused on self-service, automation, and reducing developer cognitive load.
• Experience with parts of the listed technology stack or similar tools and platforms.
• Strong programming or scripting skills and willingness to build platform services and tooling.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with strong cross-team consulting and communication skills.
• Curiosity, motivation to grow, and willingness to deepen expertise in the relevant concepts and technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with feature stores, stream processing, workflow orchestration such as Temporal, data drift tooling, or GDPR and data compliance.
• Experience with Go.
