Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (Embedded Insurance)

Location: Hybrid in Brussels; candidates across Europe welcome. Flexible remote arrangements are supported, with up to one month per year working from anywhere globally.

What you will do

• Own complex full-stack features from design and implementation through deployment and monitoring.
• Design and evolve scalable Node services, React applications, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
• Develop MongoDB data models and optimize performance, availability, observability, testing, and resilience.
• Build secure authentication and authorization flows and protect sensitive data.
• Integrate third-party services and maintain data consistency across systems.
• Contribute to architecture, code reviews, knowledge sharing, mentoring, and developer experience improvements.

Requirements

• Typically 5+ years of professional experience building and operating production systems.
• Strong engineering fundamentals, architectural thinking, and experience with distributed systems, service boundaries, and API design.
• Production experience with Node, React, and MongoDB, or transferable experience with Java, C#, Go, or Python.
• Experience designing and maintaining robust RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.
• Strong Git skills and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Experience with cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Interest in applying emerging AI capabilities to development and product improvements.
