Electrical Engineering Intern (Robotics)

TL;DR

Electrical Engineering Intern (Robotics): Assisting in the design, assembly, and testing of electronic circuits for drone systems with an accent on power distribution, sensors, and communication modules. Focus on analyzing system performance data and recommending improvements for signal quality, power efficiency, and overall reliability.

Location: Must be available to be onsite in El Segundo, CA a minimum of 15 hours per week. Must be within commuting distance to El Segundo.

What you will do

• Assist in designing, assembling, and testing electronic circuits for drone systems.
• Support the integration and testing of advanced radio-frequency (RF) systems for drone communication and navigation.
• Collaborate on programming microcontrollers and embedded systems for drone operation and telemetry.
• Assist in the design and layout of printed circuit boards (PCBs) for custom drone applications.
• Analyze system performance data and recommend improvements for signal quality, power efficiency, and overall reliability.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field (junior or senior year preferred).
• Knowledge of circuit design and simulation tools (e.g., LTSpice, Multisim).
• Familiarity with RF systems and communication protocols (e.g., LoRa, Zigbee, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi).
• Experience with microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, Arduino, or similar).
• Understanding of PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, or Eagle).
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National or U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Those currently on most student/work visas do not currently qualify for ITAR.
