Location: This role offers a Work From Anywhere policy, allowing work from almost any country globally. Hybrid work is also an option for candidates based in Vilnius or Kaunas, with up to two remote days per week.

Salary: €5600–€7200 gross/month

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve high-traffic, business-critical backend services with a focus on scalability and reliability.
• Lead and influence architectural decisions from domain modeling to deployment strategies.
• Drive the evolution of the next-generation service platform with senior and lead engineers.
• Identify system bottlenecks and propose architectural improvements for long-term growth.
• Own complex technical initiatives end-to-end, from design to production.
• Write clean, well-tested code while raising engineering standards across the team.

Requirements

• Strong experience as a backend or software engineer building production systems.
• Solid understanding of software design principles, service-oriented architecture, and API design.
• Experience building application backends, internal platforms, or service ecosystems.
• Confidence working with different programming languages and stacks.
• Experience working with databases, messaging systems, and distributed components.
• Comfort participating in code reviews, design discussions, and technical decision-making.

Nice to have

• Experience building or scaling platforms that serve millions of requests.
• Worked with multiple backend languages or ecosystems (e.g., PHP, Go, Node.js).
• Designed systems with reliability, observability, and operational concerns.
