Senior Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer: Leading the development of customer-facing features within the Atlas Growth group, with an accent on guiding customers through app development from configuration to production workloads. Focus on proactively suggesting and implementing improvements to product, processes, and infrastructure, while leading complex technical projects and mentoring teammates.

Location: This position is based in our New York City office and open to our “Flexible” or “In Office” working models. The base salary range and benefits are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

Salary: $126,000—$248,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead complex projects and shape the technical direction of the team.
• Proactively suggest and implement improvements to the product, processes, and infrastructure.
• Work closely with product management to assess feasibility and guide the long-term roadmap of customer-facing features.
• Write scope and technical specification documents for large projects and lead small working groups.
• Contribute readable, well-tested, and debuggable code.
• Provide thorough review of the team’s code and technical documentation.
• Take ownership of a particular domain and make a plan to improve that area.
• Offer informal mentorship to peers and participate in 24/7 on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Fluency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Proficiency in Java, Go, C++/C, or a similar compiled language.
• Experience writing database queries and indexes—either document-based or relational.
• Experience writing and reviewing technical specs.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and container architecture.
• Track record of designing, releasing, and monitoring highly complex features.
• Experience with on call rotations.
