What you will do

• Lead technical decision-making and architecture for the API Gateway.
• Design and implement scalable solutions for complex problems like rate-limiting and routing.
• Maintain and improve the API Gateway and traffic management systems.
• Write, review, and maintain production code primarily in Go and Ruby & Rails.
• Mentor engineers and participate in team on-call rotation and meetings.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience (6+ years overall, or 4+ with Bachelor's) in Software Engineering.
• Proven experience maintaining and delivering production software.
• 4+ years building and supporting large, high-traffic platform/infrastructure applications at scale.
• 4+ years experience with cloud-native workloads in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• 2+ years experience maintaining an API Gateway.
• Must be based remotely in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with HAProxy or other open-source Load Balancers.
• Background in building or maintaining planetary-scale engineering systems.
• Demonstrated passion for fostering good API Design practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
