Senior Software Engineer (Backend): Building and scaling highly-available, mission-critical applications for a Payroll Tax system with an accent on processing financial obligations accurately and on time. Focus on modernizing and optimizing cloud platforms using .Net, PostgreSQL, and event-driven architecture.

Location: This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements. You must be available five days per week during designated work hours.

Salary: $98,000–$140,000/yr

What you will do

• Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to build and deliver a top-notch Tax Treasury experience on a scalable cloud platform.
• Leverage Agile methodologies and CI/CD to rapidly release new features.
• Build and productionize highly scalable and tolerant systems using .Net and PostgreSQL, participating in on-call rotations.
• Act as a technical lead for features or epics, including technical and design discovery prior to implementation.
• Mentor less-experienced team members and advocate for best practices and a healthy balance of tech debt versus delivery.
• Strengthen the team by sharing knowledge, building relationships with stakeholders, and contributing to system improvements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience, specifically working on highly reliable large-scale systems.
• Advanced in object-oriented design, development, and unit-testing with .Net C#.
• Firm grasp of object-oriented analysis and design, and RESTful API Design patterns.
• Good knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferable) and hands-on experience with NoSQL and SQL.
• Experience building, testing, and operating software applications with .Net, Postgres, Dapper, Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, event driven architecture, distributed caching, and streaming patterns.
• Bachelor's degree in a computer science, engineering, or technology related field or equivalent experience.
• Work authorization: Must be able to work within the U.S.
