Ruby on Rails Engineer

Location: Ideally Belgrade, Serbia (Hybrid/Office).
 Position: Ruby on Rails Engineer
 
 We are looking for a Ruby on Rails Engineer to join a product development company that handles strategic and technological decisions for international clients.
 
 In this role, you will work on the backend of our core platform, supporting customer journeys, partner integrations, and internal tools.
 
 What You’ll Do:
 - Develop and maintain long living Ruby on Rails application
 - Implement new features and improve existing ones across the core platform
 - Design and maintain database models and application logic
 - Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
 - Participate in code reviews and contribute to shared coding standards
 - Support performance, stability, and scalability improvements
 - Help document technical decisions and system behavior
 
 What You Bring
 
 Experience:
 - Around 3+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails
 - Strong understanding of MVC architecture and RESTful APIs
 - Solid grasp of Ruby fundamentals and best practices
 - Experience with Angular (or ready to work with it)
 - English B2+ or higher
 
 Technical Skills:
 - Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar)
 - Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and secure backend development
 - Confident use of Git and collaborative development workflows
 - Ability to work with existing codebases and gradually improve them
 - Familiarity with Docker and containerized development environments
 
 Soft Skills:
 - Clear communicator who works well in a team environment
 - Proactive mindset with a sense of ownership over delivered work
 - Ability to balance code quality with business needs
 - Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-moving product environment
