Location: Remote (US, Canada, Central, and South America due to time zone restrictions)

Salary: $1,600-$3,200 per month

What you will do

• Create narrative content supporting systemic gameplay, improving readability, and reinforcing game tone.
• Write and iterate on in-game text such as barks, tooltips, tutorials, event text, and NPC dialogue.
• Collaborate with design to define narrative framing for campaign levels and game systems.
• Help build and maintain narrative pipelines, including writing guidelines, voice/tone references, and content organization.
• Participate in playtests and reviews, polishing content for clarity, pacing, humor, and emotional impact.

Requirements

• Strong writing skills with an emphasis on clarity, tone control, and humor.
• An interest in how narrative supports game systems and player choice.
• Ability to provide and receive critical feedback professionally.
• A writing portfolio with varied examples (games preferred).
• Complete or near-complete undergraduate college experience in a writing/design-related subject, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with interactive fiction tools, scripting, branching dialogue, or narrative implementation workflows.
• Experience with Unreal Engine.
