Software Engineer (Hypervisor Tools)

Location: Hybrid, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite at one of the following offices: Cambridge, San Jose, Durham (USA), Mexico City (Mexico), Bangalore, Pune (India), Hoofddorp (Netherlands), Belgrade (Serbia), Barcelona (Spain), Singapore, Sydney (Australia), or Tokyo (Japan).

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain internal tools for the Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV).
• Enable AHV developers to enhance reliability, performance, and security.
• Participate in hypervisor development, especially when it involves features needed for framework interaction.
• Develop reliable system tests to prevent regressions and discover defects in new features.
• Improve build systems, developer productivity tools, and automate day-to-day tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux.
• Excellent coding skills in Python or Rust for enterprise-quality software.
• Hands-on knowledge of Git and Docker.
• Familiarity with OS internals and concepts of distributed systems.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with API design, REST, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Pytest or similar test frameworks.
• Experience with automation, CI/CD, and DevOps tools like Jenkins, Ansible, or GitHub Actions.
• Some industry experience or equivalent research experience.
• Experience in C or Golang.
