What you will do
- Contribute to the full product lifecycle from ideation to deployment and measurement.
- Build intuitive and performant web interfaces for business owners in Africa.
- Implement IT security and data protection best practices in a regulated environment.
- Proactively drive architectural decisions to improve scalability, observability, and modularity.
- Handle production incidents and automate non-tech processes.
- Mentor junior engineers and represent engineering in cross-functional discussions.
Requirements
- Strong product mindset and understanding of web development, frontend and backend best practices with JavaScript technologies (Typescript, React, NextJS, NodeJS, Express, PostgreSQL).
- Experience in a VC-backed or high-growth engineering team and building customer-facing products.
- Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment with high pace and ambiguity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Care about the mission of solving problems for African businesses.
- Must be based in London or Paris.
Nice to have
- Speak and write in French & English.
- Experience in Fintech, payments, wallets, or building ledgers.
- Expertise in security and data protection best practices in an FCA regulated business.
