What you will do

• Contribute to the full product lifecycle from ideation to deployment and measurement.
• Build intuitive and performant web interfaces for business owners in Africa.
• Implement IT security and data protection best practices in a regulated environment.
• Proactively drive architectural decisions to improve scalability, observability, and modularity.
• Handle production incidents and automate non-tech processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and represent engineering in cross-functional discussions.

Requirements

• Strong product mindset and understanding of web development, frontend and backend best practices with JavaScript technologies (Typescript, React, NextJS, NodeJS, Express, PostgreSQL).
• Experience in a VC-backed or high-growth engineering team and building customer-facing products.
• Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment with high pace and ambiguity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Care about the mission of solving problems for African businesses.
• Must be based in London or Paris.

Nice to have

• Speak and write in French & English.
• Experience in Fintech, payments, wallets, or building ledgers.
• Expertise in security and data protection best practices in an FCA regulated business.
