TL;DR

What you will do

• Build and extend a client-side JavaScript/TypeScript SDK orchestrating third-party vendor scripts behind a unified API.
• Develop and improve a secure, embeddable web application for interactive identity verification flows.
• Ensure reliability by contributing to versioning strategies, staged rollouts, and CI/CD pipelines for client-side code.
• Tackle integration challenges with various vendor SDKs, ensuring seamless collaboration.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and senior engineers to refine the SDK's developer experience.
• Engage with customers to support early adopters and debug integration issues.

Requirements

• Hybrid role based in Berlin.
• Fluent English required.
• Solid engineering fundamentals across the full stack, comfortable with APIs and responsive frontend experiences.
• Good understanding of browser mechanics: DOM, security models (CSP, CORS, iframe sandboxing), caching, script loading, and performance.
• Comfortable working in production environments and willing to participate in incident response.
• 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally with web applications or developer-facing tools.
• Production experience with TypeScript/JavaScript on both client and server, with modern frontend application development knowledge.
• Some backend development experience (Python is a plus), able to work with supporting APIs and services.
• Prior experience with public cloud providers, preferably AWS.

Nice to have

• Experience building or contributing to a client-side SDK, embeddable widget, or developer-facing JavaScript library.
• Exposure to identity verification, fraud prevention, or fintech (e.g., Socure, Vouched, Onfido).
• Familiarity with media APIs (camera access, image capture, WebRTC) and permission-driven UX flows.
• Interest in developer tools, documentation, or SDKs with a focus on great developer experience.
• Awareness of security and compliance considerations (SOC2, PII handling) for client-side applications in regulated industries.
