What you will do

• Develop and deliver firmware for Ring's camera-centric devices.
• Add significant new features and integrate with new hardware and software services.
• Manage personal backlog and prioritize technical issues.
• Obsess over and improve device performance, including battery life, boot time, and system latency.
• Collaborate with partners, colleagues, and teams on complex engineering problems.
• Provide proactive outward communication and technical leadership.

Requirements

• Professional experience in non-internship software development.
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design (design patterns, reliability, scaling) of new and current systems.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# with object-oriented design.
• Recent development experience within the last 3 years.
• Experience in embedded development in C/C++.
• English: B2 required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
