Principal FPGA Design Engineer Contractor

Principal FPGA Design Engineer Contractor (FPGA): Responsible for decomposing system requirements into an implementable FPGA architecture and leading FPGA developments from specification to verified design on target hardware with an accent on electronic design, test, and certification of advanced FPGAs. Focus on system-level analysis, VHDL implementation, and mentoring junior engineers.

Location: Enfield, GB. Travel within the UK may be required.

What you will do

• Produce Firmware for new, innovative, and profitable products and solutions.
• Define requirements, design, document, implement, test, and verify FPGA designs.
• Undertake design, implementation, and debugging of VHDL based FPGA hardware.
• Lead multiple projects/work packages, including scoping, resource definition, and monitoring progress.
• Mentor junior team members and provide constructive feedback in code/document reviews.
• Conduct appropriate Design Reviews of FPGA design and VHDL implementation.

Requirements

• Experience working on systems containing multiple FPGAs.
• Proven track record of analysing system requirements at the highest level and decomposing them into suitable implementations.
• Proven track record of producing designs on time and within budget.
• Good command of written and verbal English.
• Experience working on Radar or related DSP applications.
• 10 or more years’ experience working on FPGA designs.
• An excellent Masters or Bachelor’s Degree from a good university.
