Location: Mountain View, United States. Employees are expected to work from a designated Microsoft office at least four days a week if they live within 50 miles (U.S.) of that location.

Salary: USD $119,800 – $304,200 per year

What you will do

• Develop algorithms, model architectures, data mixtures, and scaling laws for large-scale AI training.
• Drive algorithmic implementations and conduct experiments for flagship training runs on a distributed stack.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure, data, post-training, and multimodality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or related technical discipline.
• 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Proven expertise in relevant areas, evidenced by publication track record and technical leadership in high-impact projects.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to data-driven decision-making.
• Experience and/or in-depth understanding of large-scale distributed systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Nice to have

• 6+ years technical engineering experience, or Master’s Degree with 8+ years experience.
• Demonstrated experience in large-scale AI and conversational AI deployment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Passion for learning new technologies and staying up-to-date with industry trends.
• Proven ability to contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment.
