What you will do
- Monitor and analyze platform performance and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure scalability.
- Assist teams with implementing and reviewing Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
- Improve observability through monitoring, alerting, and dashboards using tools like DataDog or Prometheus.
- Champion best practices for high availability and ensure service resilience.
- Conduct capacity assessments and plan for scaling to meet business needs.
- Strategize and implement scalable solutions, working closely with engineering leadership.
- Act as a key player in incident response, troubleshooting, and postmortems.
- Develop and maintain playbooks and documentation.
Requirements
- Experience in performance monitoring and analysis.
- Experience with capacity planning.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation technologies.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform.
- Understanding of relational database technologies and cloud versions (e.g., AWS Aurora).
- Experience with messaging and distributed asynchronous workloads.
- Familiarity with Nginx or similar technologies.
- Awareness of SRE processes and DevOps principles.
- Must be able to work without visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Experience with containerisation (e.g., Docker).
- Familiarity with Kanban and Agile development processes.
- Experience with software best practices like Clean Code and Test-Driven Development.
