What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing chapter of Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers, fostering a collaborative culture.
• Architect, design, and build complex AI/ML models hands-on, integrating them into existing IT solutions to improve data-driven decision-making.
• Establish and maintain a professional ML Ops platform for effective support, monitoring, and evaluation of production models.
• Identify new use cases and opportunities where data science/AI can deliver competitive advantage or efficiency gains.
• Champion data and model governance, ensuring adherence to the Group AI Governance Framework and data privacy by design.
• Drive innovation by staying aware of new trends, undertaking Proof of Concepts and R&D for reliable insights.

Requirements

• Work format: Hybrid in London.
• Experience as a Senior Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer with demonstrated mentoring and coaching abilities.
• Extensive hands-on experience in architecting, designing, and building complex ML models, with a strong understanding of cloud services and the AI/ML/LLM ecosystem.
• Proven ability to build, maintain, and support production-deployed models, including ML Ops maturity.
• Mature understanding of AI and Data governance (obfuscation, privacy laws, version control, lineage).
• Exceptional proficiency in Python (and R) for data science, coupled with SQL capabilities.
• Real-world experience with, or demonstrable capability for, applications of Generative AI, LLMs, AI Agents, NLP, or Computer Vision.
