Software QA Specialist: Leading quality assurance and defect management for a new digital platform with an accent on complex problem identification, resolution, and defect validation. Location: This position requires the candidate to be based in either Chicago, IL or Peoria, IL. Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position. Visa sponsorship is NOT available with this position.

Salary: $97,530.00 - $158,480.00

What you will do

• Identify and resolve complex application/technical problems.
• Perform testing, project management, and quality assurance assignments without close supervision.
• Identify gaps in system test using understanding of various testing types.
• Validate new and existing defects within software products.
• Reproduce defects, collect artifacts, and participate in field follow testing.
• Communicate with end users and product owners to direct development, debugging, and testing.
• Identify high-impact issues, drive resolution, perform root cause analysis, and assist leadership with data-driven decisions.

Requirements

• Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of software product testing, including design, planning, and execution of testing strategies.
• Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• 4+ years of experience in software test and/or software development.
• Knowledge of Agile, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control methodologies.

Nice to have

• Leadership and/or project management experience in a cross-functional environment.
• Knowledge of AWS, SQL, ADO, Power BI, and Excel.
• Strong analytical and data mining skills.
• Excellent presentation skills.
