What you will do

• Experiment with and deploy AI/ML models/agents to automate product image recognition at scale.
• Formulate hypotheses, validate model performance, and analyze business impact to turn insights into production-ready models.
• Develop ML models for intelligent product recognition from images, extracting details like barcode, name, and categorization.
• Stay up to date with state-of-the-art models (NLP, deep learning, control vision, classification, LLMs/AI agents) and apply them.
• Collaborate closely with MLEs and Engineers to ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, and fast in production.
• Contribute to the long-term vision of product image recognition while delivering short-term measurable business impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist focusing heavily on Computer Vision (CV).
• Deep expertise in relevant frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Proven experience with Object Detection, Image Segmentation, and Classification.
• Experience with model versioning, tracking (MLflow, Weights & Biases), and ensuring models are deployable in production environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical problems and solutions.

Nice to have

• PhD in AI, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Experience integrating ML models into low-latency real-time API services.
• Experience in fine-tuning Large Language Models.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
• Proven ability to design and scale ML systems under strict latency, throughput, and cost constraints.
