Lead Member of Technical Staff (Security Data Science & ML Engineering): Designing, building, and operating scalable data and ML services for real-time threat detection, automated response, and proactive defense with an accent on agentic AI, LLMs, and high-throughput security data platforms. Focus on shaping the architecture, reliability, and safety of AI-driven security systems that reason, decide, and act at machine speed.

Location: Must be based in Washington (Bellevue, Seattle) or California (Palo Alto, San Francisco)

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable data models and optimize batch/streaming pipelines for security data.
• Develop, validate, and deploy statistical and ML models for security use cases like anomaly detection.
• Design and deliver agentic AI workflows and integrate LLMs with security pipelines for automation.
• Ship secure, well-tested software embedding ML and agentic workflows into production services and APIs.
• Design autonomy envelopes and build end-to-end observability across agent lifecycles for safety and reliability.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and partner with product/infrastructure teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience building and operating large-scale data or software systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python (preferred), Scala, or Java, with excellent software engineering fundamentals.
• Expertise with data and stream processing technologies such as Airflow, Spark, Kafka, Flink.
• Solid SQL skills and experience with at least one NoSQL or distributed data store.
• Practical experience deploying and operating ML systems in production.
• Cloud experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and managed data/ML services.
• English: B2 required
• Working knowledge of data privacy, secure data handling, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• MLOps and infrastructure experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD.
• Familiarity with agentic frameworks, vector databases, and model routing.
• Security domain experience with threat detection, vulnerability intelligence.
