Senior Security Engineer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Senior Security Engineer (Fintech): Securing data, systems, and operations for a rapidly expanding regulated business, with an accent on developing and maintaining security monitoring and alerting capabilities. Focus on managing SIEM and SOC, identifying new log sources, improving security tooling, and responding to incidents effectively.

Location: This is a Hybrid role, the Security team work from our London Office 2 days per week.

What you will do

• Shape security measures to deter threats and safeguard valuable assets.
• Ensure security monitoring and alerting capabilities are functioning effectively.
• Contribute to the cyber security strategy.
• Manage the SIEM and SOC, including identifying and implementing new log sources and use cases.
• Maintain and improve existing security tooling with the latest features.
• Manage and respond to security incidents effectively.

Requirements

• Experience with the Microsoft security stack (Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Entra, Azure Policy).
• Experience working within the Security Incident Response Lifecycle, creating and reviewing plans and playbooks.
• Ability to review and ingest new log sources into a SIEM.
• Experience working alongside a SOC to ensure alerts are managed effectively.
• Strong understanding of securing cloud native technologies.
• Experience designing, building and maintaining security tooling.
• Experience with ‘defence in depth’ and ‘zero trust’ methodologies to cyber security.
• Able to join an Out Of Hours emergency on-call rota.

Nice to have

• Ability to feed into the Cyber Security Strategy.
• Understanding of Cybersecurity frameworks and compliance (ISO27001/NIST/SOC2).
• Understanding of network security technologies and protocols.
• Experience or exposure to working in a regulated environment.
