TL;DR

Application Support Engineer (Fintech): Ensuring stability, availability, and performance of applications in a global, high-availability trading environment with an accent on incident management, root cause analysis, and application deployments. Focus on troubleshooting production and trade-related issues, collaborating with development teams, and maintaining operational excellence.

Location: This role is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Candidates must have appropriate rights and documentation for employment in Malaysia.

What you will do

  • Provide Level 1 application support for business-critical internal and external systems across the hirify.global platform.
  • Act as the first point of contact for incidents, service requests, and support enquiries, ensuring accurate triage and adherence to SLAs.
  • Monitor application health using system logs, alerts, observability tools, and transaction reporting.
  • Investigate production and trade-related incidents, including data and transaction issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring or major incidents and contribute to service improvement actions.
  • Support application deployments, releases, and configuration changes, validating from a supportability perspective.
  • Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and third-party vendors to resolve issues.
  • Participate in on-call and out-of-hours support as part of a global support model.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in an Application Support or Production Support role supporting business-critical systems.
  • Strong experience in incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Proficient in system and application monitoring tools such as Zabbix and Datadog.
  • Solid understanding of supporting and maintaining applications in high-availability, production environments.
  • Experience supporting systems hosted in cloud environments such as Azure or AWS.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
  • Appropriate rights and documentation for employment in Malaysia are required.

Nice to have

  • Previous coding or troubleshooting experience with .NET, containers, Kubernetes, and SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management practices, including ITIL knowledge.
  • Exposure to DevOps and Agile ways of working.
