TL;DR

Intern, Controls (Electric Vehicle): Contributing to the development of vehicle control systems for an electric medium duty truck with an accent on the development and validation of algorithms for control of vehicle systems. Focus on model-in-the-loop simulation tests and debugging issues in implemented code found in simulation or in-vehicle testing.

Location: This role requires a commitment of 4 days in-office per week at our facility in Garden Grove, CA.

Salary: $25-35 USD per hour

What you will do

• Develop software algorithms in Simulink & Stateflow.
• Create physical models in SimScape to represent vehicle components and systems.
• Perform Model-In-The-Loop simulation tests for validation of control algorithms.
• Build Algorithm code using code generation tools and debug issues in implemented code.
• Assist with hands-on evaluation of controls performance in bench setups and in-vehicle.
• Develop automation scripts for CI/CD to generate Simulink model metrics.

Requirements

• Experience with MATLAB / Simulink required.
• Experience with source control systems such as git, svn, mercurial required.
• Knowledge of hybrid / electric vehicle systems and components preferred.
• Experience with CAN monitoring tools such as CANalyzer, BusMaster, or similar preferred.
• Exposure to Classical / Modern Control theory preferred.
• Work authorized in the United States OR ability to obtain F-1 visa
