What you will do

  • Ensure consistent application of process-based and risk-based thinking throughout distributed R&D organizations.
  • Align R&D quality objectives with business priorities and rail customer requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze R&D performance and drive corrective actions and improvement plans.
  • Provide quality oversight for electronics R&D, including hardware, PCB design, and embedded systems for rail applications.
  • Ensure robust risk management practices (e.g., design FMEA, hazard analysis) are consistently applied.
  • Systematically incorporate feedback from production, field performance, and service into R&D improvements.
  • Plan and execute internal audits of R&D and engineering interfaces in accordance with ISO 22163 and ISO 9001.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent, ideally with quality certifications (e.g., IRIS Lead Auditor, ISO 22163/9001).
  • 5+ years of experience in R&D and Quality Management within a multi-site, global engineering environment with production interfaces.
  • Strong background in design transfer, industrialization, production ramp-up support, and deep understanding of electronics development.
  • Expertise in design controls, configuration management, and change management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
  • Fluency in English is required; any other major European language is an advantage.
